 Huh

Help.  I need to know what else I can use for the dry milk powder in the pumpkin muffin recipe in FFF.  I can't find dry milk powder in the stores.  Everything I find is instant.  I do not want to spend a fortune.  Does any one know what I can substitute?

Sorry! I meant to respond to you earlier this week. But then my dad decided to scare the pants off all of us and have a heart attack (Tuesday) and quadruple bypass surgery (yesterday). He's doing much better today, thankfully!

I would omit the milk powder if you can't find it and add a little more butter to compensate--like 1/4 cup more. That should help keep them from getting too dry. Let me know how they turn out! And again, thanks for your patience. What a crazy week!

Kati,

I'm sorry to hear about your dad.  What a scary thing.  I hope and pray he is doing better.
Thanks for the advice on the pumpkin recipe.

Thanks! Looks like they're sending him home tomorrow. I guess I'm going to have to get busy adapting some of the recipes from the American Heart Association to the freezer. I be a lot of people would find that helpful. I can't believe the number of people who have mentioned the have a relative, know of a co-workers, friend from church, etc. who has had bypass surgery. Apparently at the facility my Dad is at, they do 2-3 of those surgeries per weekday. Amazing!

I made the pumpkin muffins without the dry milk powder and added 1/4 cup extra butter.  My kids loved them!  I can't compare them to the actual recipe since I've never made it, but my family thought they were good this way.   Grin Grin
