There's still time to use the grill before the cold season sets in. Zesty Flank Steak was the top selling meal at Make and Take, my meal assembly business. My customers loved it!

Originally published in The Warehouse Gourmet, I held this recipe back from Fix, Freeze, Feast as a "Thank You" to our early supporters. Since Fix, Freeze, Feast turns two next month, it's time to celebrate and share it with others!

It's FREE this month only!

Note: Sorry, Zesty Flank Steak is no longer available. Check out the November Recipe of the Month: Lemon Blueberry Strata.

I had originally purchased The Warehouse Gourmet, and quickly ordered FFF once it became available, and had recently emailed to request a sequel, so I am THRILLED to know that another FFF is in the works!  As a busy, homeschooling mom of 7, I can't imagine getting dinner on the table any other way any more!
Blessings,
Dana

Thanks, Dana! It's going to take a while yet, so I hope you'll come by the forum once in a while when you have time to  visit and see what's cooking. Smiley

I love a good flank steak recipe.  I do have a question about the lemon juice in this recipe.  How do you keep the lemon juice from cooking the steak before it gets to freeze.

I love FFF book.  I find it very easy to use, however, there are a couple recipes that include lime juice.  The lime juice basically  cooked the steak when I made the one recipe and it concerns me to use lime or lemon juice for this reason.  Do you have any suggestions on how to avoid this?

Looking forward to FFF 2!

Hi Sharon,

Wow, that sounds horrible! I'm sorry that's been your experience. I haven't heard of that happening before. Maybe others will help us out with their ideas.

Have you considered freezing the steak and marinade separately and then combining them at some point during the thaw. It adds a couple of little steps--like re-whisking the marinade--but it sure beats losing a whole steak. Yikes!

I've been avoiding recipes with it in them or substituting.  I think you're idea to just separate them is probably best.  Thanks.
